The O.C. gets cancelled

Ryan, Marissa, Seth, and Summer will wrap up The O.C. at the end of this season, FOX announced today.

This just in from Fox: “The sun will set for the last time on The O.C. when the series ends its four-season run Thursday, Feb. 22, at 9 pm/ET.” All-new episodes will air from the series’ Jan. 4 return through its forever finale.
I have to admit I’ve enjoyed the show, right up until they killed off Mischa Barton’s character at the end of last season. But I’ve still been watching and was actually upset when I heard this will be the last season.
That is, until I turned on tonight’s episode and saw TV’s Hercules, Kevin Sorbo, guest-starring as Ryan’s father recently released from prison… Oh yeah, did I mention he also happens to be dying?
Can someone say “jump the shark”? Blah. Another show bites the dust, right after running out of ideas.
