MLB Postseason Preview 2006

September 21, 2006 Baseball, Sports

With both the Mets (first time since 1988) and Yankees (9th straight) clinching their divisions this week, I thought it was about time I gave you a Major League Baseball Postseason Preview.

So far, it looks like the baseball teams likely making it into the playoffs this season are:

  • NL EAST: New York Mets
  • NL CENTRAL: St. Louis Cardinals
  • NL WEST: San Diego Padres
  • NL WILDCARD: Los Angeles Dodgers OR Philadelphia Phillies
  • AL EAST: New York Yankees
  • AL CENTRAL: Detroit Tigers
  • AL WEST: Oakland Athletics
  • AL WILDCARD: Minnesota Twins

I’d say there’s a fairly good chance that we’ll see a Subway World Series this year (the first one since 2000)!

If you think I’m biased being a lifelong Mets fan, then I’ll give you this: the Mets, Yankees, and Tigers all look like they have a chance at making it all the way. The Dodgers are great this year, but they won’t make it past the Mets.

I think its the Mets all the way this year, but either way, it will be an exciting postseason!
