Breaking news interrupted by breaking news

May 25, 2006 Local Events, News

WNBC’s Breaking News coverage of the Amtrak power outages was just interrupted by NBC News Breaking Coverage of the Enron verdict.

The anchor interrupted the train official who was giving a phone interview with her about the train stoppage by saying, “Sorry, I have to interrupt you, we have breaking news from the network.”

You don’t see that everyday. I hope someone from Saturday Night Live was watching because I could imagine something similar being a funny sketch, where breaking news keeps breaking in over and over again.
