Marissa Levy live at the Bitter End

March 25, 2006 Music, Life

I had a good time seeing my friend Marissa Levy perform at the Bitter End Thursday night.

I never know what to expect at these shows — each venue seems to have their own intricate rules on how many songs each act can perform and where you can sit and how many drinks you have to purchase per show.

Marissa performed 5 or 6 songs, mostly with her new band backing her up with guitar, bass, drums, and piano. The pianist looked really familiar, but I can’t place him at the moment. The drummer was none other than Mike Clifford, who usually plays guitar for himself.

She was also joined onstage by Liz Clark and cowboy hat-wearing Holly Hurley on vocals for two different songs.

Like I told her after the show, Marissa sounded great, despite feeling under the weather.

If you trusty readers get a chance, check out her website, MarissaLevy.com and buy her debut CD, Look Ma, No Hands or her sophomore CD coming out in May, Charmed and Dangerous.
