2005 MLB Division Series Playoff Picks
The 2005 baseball season has had it’s ups and it’s downs. For some teams, they are gearing up to make it to the World Series. For the Mets and fellow Mets fans like myself, the season started way up, but ended way down, with the team not reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2000.
But don’t worry, that won’t stop me from revealing my postseason picks:
* Yankees vs. Angels
My pick: Yankees in 4
My take: The Yanks have more depth and more motivation after last year’s playoffs chokefest to the Red Sox.
* Red Sox vs. White Sox
My pick: Red Sox in 5
My take: The Red Sox are hot this year coming off their World Series win and [insert Sox vs. Sox joke here].
* Padres vs. Cardinals
My pick: Cardinals in 4
My take: This series is basically a free pass for the Cardinals against a team that got to the playoffs with the worst record ever for a division leader.
* Astros vs. Braves
My pick: Astros in 5
My take: The Braves never get past the first round of the playoffs, despite getting to them every year; plus, the Astros are still essentially the great team they were last year.
