61st Annual NYC Columbus Day Parade
Just in case any of you are Italian, are fans of parades, or have nothing else to do on Columbus Day, here’s info on this year’s New York City Columbus Day Parade:
The 61st Annual Columbus Day Parade
Fifth Avenue from 44th to 79th Streets
October 10th • 11:45 AM to 3:30 PMJoin us on Columbus Day as we celebrate Italian and Italian-American culture, traditions and innovations during our internationally broadcast Parade. Enjoy the music and folk dance of the celebrated Italian group, O Revatopopolo, floats presenting Lombardy’s spectacular lake region, the towering Giglio and marching bands from the United States and Italy – not to mention our distinguished honorees, European Union Vice-President and Commissioner of Justice, Freedom and Security Franco Frattini, security expert Pasquale J. D’Amuro and the Foundation’s own Frank Fusaro.
If you can’t make the Parade, tune in with hosts Maria Bartiromo and Joe Piscopo on NBC affiliates or view the international coverage by RAI International (check local listings for details).
See you there – Buon divertimento!
Believe it or not, this New Yorker of Italian heritage has never been to the NYC Columbus Day Parade! It probably had something to do with having to work or go to school each year on Columbus Day, although that never stopped me from attending the St. Patrick’s Day Parade…
