Free MP3s from Amazon.com
Amazon.com has a page of free mp3 downloads that they offer as promos for CD’s they sell.
There are dozens of perfectly good mp3s there for you to download, legally I might add, which is pretty cool!
Some songs there right now include:
– Moby “Quiet Pianos (Exclusive B-Side)” MP3
– Aimee Mann “She Really Wants You - Live at Largo (Exclusive)” MP3
– Bloc Party “Banquet” MP3
– Beck “He’s a Mighty Good Leader” MP3
– Yo La Tengo “Sugarcube” MP3
– Arcade Fire “Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)” MP3
– Decemberists “Engine Driver” MP3
– Ani Difranco “Studying Stones” MP3
– The Strokes “Last Nite” MP3
– Alison Krauss “The Lucky One” MP3
That’s some pretty good stuff, if you ask me. The one catch (not a big one): you have to login first to download the free files.

All the songs on that that Amazon site don’t seem to be available for download (’We’re sorry. The track you requested isn’t available’). Maybe we actually have to buy something first.

I personally downloaded several free tracks there without a problem, but I just noticed that a number of them have that “We’re sorry…” message.
That’s odd, since Amazon titled the page “Free Music Downloads”…
